Why do people not like Pam?

These comments are insane I still can't believe people feel this strongly about Pam. She's unfunny and made a couple bad choices at worst. I feel like every other character has done pretty grim things (Dwight killed Sprinkles, Angela knew Phillip was Dwight's son and didn't tell him for a year, Micheal sexually harasses the women he works with and helped a married woman cheat on her husband, etc). I think the difference is people just don't find Pam funny but I don't get why people have such deep hatred for her

Don't hate, she was just an uninteresting character who became less interesting along with jim for each successive life milestone.

had her character not been the love interest of jim her screen time and lines would have been reduced to that of meredith's.

I liked Pam in the beginning & I don't hate her at the end of the show! But I definitely noticed a difference in her and got annoyed by her on several occasions.

One of the most prominent moments that irked me was when she was pregnant and asked her coworkers not to eat food with potent smells and asked Phyllis not to wear her perfume.

It was rude of her to ask, but when I was pregnant I had to hold my breath around a couple coworkers cause the smells triggered the nausea horribly. Also constantly eat nausea candies and run outside for fresh air often. So I kinda get where she's coming from, plus they worked together for years at that point so they were kinda like an extended family

Nearly the same reactions I did have while watching the show for Pam.

The most annoying part for me -featuring her- was the mean attitude towards Michael, when she found out he was dating with her mom. I see, it's a sensitive topic but there was no need to harm someone's feeling that hard. If I were Michael, I would lose control and fire her lol.

True, but couldn't you say that she was stuck in a difficult place? I mean abandon the guy (asshole) she's been with for so long for some new guy? Totally see where you're coming from though

She's a bully. And the usual 'oh I'm too sane and smart to deal with this' attitude. She could have avoided a lot of situations and hurt on others but she is kind of sadist

There was a post yesterday on this sub about 'which female character from the office would you choose as your life long partner ?'. That post had an enormous response in favour of almost every female character in the office with exactly zero in favour of Pam. So, maybe this could be a reason, why?

I know this is not the best of answers for you, but this is the best I could do without getting downvoted.
